MiDi
MiDi (Chinese meaning: mysterious flute) the brand was born of the Beijing MiDi school of music and is a long established brand of 32 years, a flagship force in the development of Chinese modern musical arts which has been dubbed the “Whampoa Military Academy for Chinese rock music” (whereas Whampoa the actual military academy in China can be likened to West Point in the US or Sandhurst in the UK). The MiDi festival is a festival of indie music, the first of its kind in China, organized by the Beijing MiDi school.

The tiny size of the R1 is one of its standout points, which sets the stage for MiDi to play its exciting music.
It is as lightweight and convenient as the MP3 players of “old” (circa 2000) when one would yet copy music lyrics by hand with a pen (remember those?), but we have updated and upgraded the theme with a high-res touchscreen, the all-new X1600E logic SoC, and a state-of-the-art CS43131 audio SoC supporting DSD256, PCM32bits/384kHz. Its breathtaking audio quality is matched by the convenience of support for streaming music platforms TIDAL and Qobuz, net radio support, eBook support, and storage expandable via micro SD card to 2TB, making it a musical partner that caters to all your needs that you can take everywhere with you.

The MiDi-collab version of ther HiBy R1 comes with three MiDi exclusive rock music pieces, each piece exhibiting a characteristic style highly representative of their respective eras.
《》shows a very strong funk influence from the beginning chords. Thanks to the solid sound foundation of the Hiby R1, the music conveys its story with a rich atmosphere while maintaining a high level of sound quality. The drums and bass guitar do not mask each other, instead are heard in full detail one after another, with toe-tapping rhythm and high frequency transparency; guitar overtones and electronic sound effects extend in space, as if in a flowing dream.
《》shows the low-frequency control of the player through dense drum beats and roaring bass slaps — with bottomless bass extension coupled with supple dynamics, the impact of the rhythm is accurately portrayed, so that even without vocals, the midrange still shows a full sense of granularity, with the vitality of rock music so well conveyed you feel almost as if you can touch it.
《70》 (“Back to the 70s”) opens with a retro blues riff. R1's restoration of the analog sound effects of that period nails the vintage of the piece. The guitar's improvisational variation solo is at once smooth and engaging. With the physical buttons of the R1 allowing track changes and other operations by touch even in your pocket, you can immerse yourself in the music in the same manner as the cassette walkmans of old.
The three selected built-in tracks, when performed by the MiDi collab special edition R1, not only highlights the vitality, passion, and rhythm of rock music, but also retains every detail for your ears to delicately analyse. With a body as light as 75 grams and a battery life of 10 hours, it is a well-deserved "mobile Livehouse" for portable rock fans.
