1. Laser Emission System

Laser: The "heart" that generates the high-energy laser beam. It typically operates in the near-infrared band (e.g., around 1 μm), ensuring sufficient energy while maintaining relative safety.

2. Aiming and Observation System

Main Sight/Camera: Serves as the primary observation and coarse aiming channel. It is usually coaxial or parallel to the laser emission path, allowing the operator to observe distant targets. A high-definition visible-light camera is commonly used.

Thermal Imaging/Infrared Camera: Provides thermal images to assist in target identification and aiming under low-visibility conditions such as nighttime, fog, or when targets are obscured.

Laser Rangefinder: Precisely measures the distance from the device to the target, providing critical parameters for focus adjustment and energy control.

1. Clearing Vegetation and Airborne Debris

(1)Trimming/Removing Tree Branches: Precisely cutting or ablating tree branches that are too close to or already in contact with power lines within the corridor. This prevents short circuits or ground faults caused by wind sway or vegetation growth. It is the most common and classic application.

(2)Removing Airborne Debris: Remotely clearing non-metallic foreign objects entangled on conductors, insulators, or transmission towers, such as plastic film, advertisement banners, kite strings, and balloon ribbons.

2. Clearing Foreign Objects on Power Line Components

(1)Removing Wasp Nests: Safely destroying wasp nests built on transmission towers or conductors from a safe distance to ensure the safety of maintenance personnel.

(2)Clearing Bird Nests: Removing bird nests that may cause short circuits or contamination, typically during non-breeding seasons.

(3)Melting Ice Accretions: Using laser heating to melt ice columns or ice buildup on insulator strings or conductor fittings, preventing ice flashover accidents or mechanical overload.
